The children of William and Mabel Messner – Sally (William) Steward, Dixie (Robert) Brown, Marilyn Steele and David (Diane) Messner – proudly announce their parents’ 70th wedding anniversary.

Bill and Mabel were married April 15, 1940, in Paw Paw.

They have nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Through the years they have traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Europe and Mexico.

For their 50th anniversary they spent three months in Alaska visiting the places where Bill worked during construction of the Al-Can Highway in the 1940s.

Every summer when the children were growing up the entire family went on at least a two-week vacation visiting tourist and historical sites. History came alive during these times and gave each one an interest in our roots as a country. Bill and Mabel were treated to an Ultimate Lobster Feast at Red Lobster on their anniversary.

They reside at 2844 S. 13th St. in Niles and would love to hear from those who would care to send a note to brighten their day.
