Perennial Wolverine Conference power Allegan rolled into Dowagiac on Monday afternoon and left with an 8-0 victory over the Chieftains.

Casey Collins played the most competitive match at No. 3 singles as she was defeated by Casey Homess 6-3 and 6-3.

Jessica Holmes and Hannah McDonald had the most competitive doubles match as they were defeated at No. 4 by Clarice Thorpe and Holly Hagerty 6-4 and 6-3.

“I know I say that the team is working hard, but the scores tonight do not reflect this,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. “The girls are showing improvement every day in practice, show interest in learning about the game, then take that information and implement it on the court. I couldn’t ask for a better team who is eager to learn and make improvements. I’m anticipating a great season.”

Lakeshore at Edwardsburg
Host Edwardsburg won two singles flights and one doubles flight in falling to Lakeshore in a non-conference tennis match on Monday, 5-3.

Jenna Martin and Alex Watts both picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles for the Eddies.

Edwardsburg’s lone win in doubles came from Liz Ledeay and Nicole Davenport at the No. 1 position.
