Craft medalist as Dowagiac finishes second at jamboree

VICKSBURG – Host Vicksburg captured the first Wolverine Conference Jamboree of the season Wednesday at Angel Crossing.
The Bulldogs defeated Dowagiac by four strokes, 161-165.
Otsego was two shots further back with a 167, while Gull Lake and Plainwell round out the top five with scores of 175 and 176 respectively.
Paw Paw was sixth (182), South Haven seventh (190), Allegan eighth (197), Comstock ninth (198) and Three Rivers 10th (199).
Dowagiac’s Chris Craft earned medalist honors with a one-over par 37.
The Chieftains also got a 41 from Max Howe and a 43 from Cody Fairleigh.
Both Kyle Ward and Jordan Juday shot 44.
“It was the kind of score I was looking for from Chris on Monday,” Dowagiac coach Van Johnson said. “Max and Kyle were both a little high today. We are right back at it tomorrow at Heritage Glenn.”
