Seven-run sixth inning propels Brandywine

NILES – A seven-run sixth inning propelled host Brandywine baseball team to a 12-6 non-conference victory over Mendon Monday afternoon.

The Bobcats (5-3) trailed 4-0 heading to the bottom half of the second inning.

Brandywine scored a run in the second and a run in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-2.

The Hornets added two more runs in the top of the fifth to make it a 6-2 contest before the Bobcats tallied three times in the bottom half of the frame to make it a 6-5 contest.

Brandywine exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the victory.

Joe Godfrey picked up the victory in relief of Derek Nichols.

Buck Bourdon had a double for the Bobcats.
