The Michigan eGolf Amateur Tour (MIAGT) has a record 106 player’s signed up to compete in the season opening event at Pheasant Run in Canton.

More players are signing up every day. Golf is going strong for the MIAGT andmany new players are anxious to test their skills against some of best golfers in Michigan.
Nate Wiltse of Dowagiac and Marc Lewandowski of Buchanan are among those listed as active players.

“We have had good turnout for season openers in the past, but last year we were down about 25 percent. This year we were unsure how things would work out, but if this event is any indication we are going to have a great year. We have had more players at events but never this many for a season opener,” Curtis LaFore said.

Part of the draw is the new two-day major tournaments on the schedule. Players will have to keep it together for two days and two exciting rounds on championship courses to earn the title of Major Champion.

The MIAGT has five separate flights each offering the thrill of victory with their own trophies and prizes. Golfers come from all across Michigan to compete in one and two day events to hoist the trophy proving that show they were the best golfer in their flight that day or weekend.

Players will hit the links at 11:55 a.m. Sunday morning to play against old friends and new competitors brought out by lure of holding that first place crystal trophy.

Competition will undoubtedly be fierce and players will endure the full spectrum of emotions that competitive golf brings.

Golfers may join the tour at any time for a $85 membership fee. That fee includes an eGolf Tour Card, Shirt and Hat.

Members are allowed to play in Michigan tournaments, as well as other eGolf events around the country in over 33 cities.

Tournament entry fees range from $70-$155. Those fees include green fees, range balls, carts and entry into the prize pool, there are optional skins and closest-to-the-pin games.
