Niles JV sweeps Dowagiac

DOWAGIAC – The Niles junior varsity baseball team improved to 3-0 on Thursday with a sweep of host Dowagiac.

The Vikings defeated the Chieftains 9-0 and 11-7.

Mitchell Dehn earned the win for Niles as he worked three innings, allowing just two hits.

Prescott Smith, Matt Dodge and Taylor Purucker were all 2-for-3. The Vikings finished with 11 hits.

In the nightcap, Niles finished with seven hits by seven different players.

The Viking overcame a five-run deficit after three innings, scoring eight runs in the fourth.

Purucker earned the win for Niles, while Tyler Parish picked up the save.

The Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday, April 13 against Battle Creek Lakeview.
