Paula Jackson, of Niles and Michael and Christine Vandenburg, of Union, Kent., announce the engagement of their daughter, Elaine Michelle Vandenburg, to Michael Paul Rowland, son of Gary and Peggy Valencourt, of Niles and Michael Rowland, of Charleston, S.C.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Niles High School and Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. She served two years with the AmeriCorps and is employed by the Denver Zoo as an events specialist in Denver.

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are David and Miriam Jackson and Don and Marlene Vandenburg, all of Niles, Mich.

The prospective groom graduated from Buchanan High School and Western Michigan University. He is employed by Cintas as a sales professional in Denver.

Grandparents of the prospective groom are Sherman and JoAnne Rowland, of Tampa, Fla.

Wedding vows will be exchanged Saturday July 10, 2010 at an outdoor ceremony in Denver. Reception will follow at the Denver Zoo.
