Dean Clark, 71

Dean Leroy Clark, 71, passed away on March 30, 2010 after a long illness and battle.  He was born Nov. 9, 1938 in North Star, Mich. to Clifford and Marie (Cramer) Clark.  Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Good) Clark; sons, Dean Lee and (Jane) Clark, of Little Rock, Ark., Jeffrey and (Tracy) Clark, of Benton Harbor; daughters, Suzette and (John) Hudak, of Edwardsburg, Lori Pfingst and (Rick Brew), of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. and Bonnie Pfingst and (April Russell), of Otsego, Mich..; 11 grandchildren, Danya, Dean Karl, Cayla, Gage, Joshua, Layne, Olivia, Auri, Jack, Luke and Holden; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Clark of Lansing; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many “loved ones” who called him Dad and Grandpa, including Michelle, Alexis and David Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Dean was a member and pillar in the Hope United Methodist Church family of Edwardsburg. He served as a mentor to many men in the church.  He was a craftsman and owned the Woodshed and the Carpenter’s Son in Elkhart, Ind. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the local American Legion.

Dean touched many people during his life.  He was a compassionate and caring man who will be missed terribly by his family and friends.

Services will be held at Hope United Methodist Church of Edwardsburg on Friday, April 2 at 10 a.m. with visitation Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jeff Reese will be officiating.
