Stephen F. “Steve” Coffey, 55, of Dowagiac, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

Steve’s life began on April 19, 1954, in Dowagiac, the son of Paul T. and Jeannette (Graziano) Coffey.

He was a 1972 Dowagiac Union High School graduate.

Steve was united in marriage to the former Louise Wilson on Sept. 11, 1976, in Cassopolis.

Steve had worked for Franklin and Sons in Dowagiac.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid golfer.

His greatest joy was his family, which includes: his wife, Louise Coffey of Dowagiac; daughter, Melissa Coffey of Naples, Fla.; sister, Pat (Patrick) Murphy of Sister Lakes; brothers, Dr. John (Priscilla) Coffey of Exeter, Calif., Michael (Robin) Coffey of Dowagiac and Thomas (Kerri) Coffey of Libertyville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Steve’s parents precede him in death.

Steve’s family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where his funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Stacy Wilder of Calvary Bible Church.

Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
