Claude C. Castle, 86, passed away on March 21, 2010 at Park Place Assisted Living in Kalamazoo.

Claude’s life began Oct. 14, 1923 in Dowagiac when he was born to Wilford and Pearl (Blood) Castle.

Claude was a graduate from Dowagiac Central High School. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

Claude was married to Madeline Patterson from August 1944 until 1971. Claude married Lillie Owen in June 1974 in Three Rivers.

His loving family includes his children, Michael (Evelyn) Castle, of Dexter, Mo., Gary Castle, of Kalamazoo, Diana Castle, of Kalamazoo, Janeda (Dennis) Schurman, of Lawton; stepchildren, Bonnie Nash, of Three Rivers, Sharon (Gary) Phelps, of Marcellus, Patti (Larry) Lane, of Virginia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews and his first wife, Madeline Parmley, of Kalamazoo.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Pearl Castle; his wife, Lillie Castle; his sisters, Grace Hanley, Vivian Gardner and Gladys Vanda; his brothers, Frank Castle, Gordon Castle, Glen Castle and Victor Castle; and his grandson, Michael Todd Castle.

In keeping with Claude’s wish there will be no services.
