Bobcats fall in opener

ST. JOSEPH – The Brandywine girls’ soccer team opened up its season Wednesday night with a 2-1 loss to host Lake Michigan Catholic.

The Bobcats’ lone goal was scored by Michaela Greer in the 37th minute and gave Brandywine a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

The Lakers (1-0) got a pair of second half goals to pick up the non-league victory.
The Bobcats finished with eight shots on goal, while Lake Michigan Catholic finished with seven.

Brandywine’s Carlie Newman was credited with five saves.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday at the VanDenBerg Invitational.
