Zache sisters help Bethel College to sweep

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Former Brandywine standouts Kelli and Kendra Zache combined on a four-hitter Friday to help Bethel College sweep visiting Concordia University in college softball.
Kelli Zache worked the first six innings, allowing four hits with three strikeouts in the Pilots’ 7-0 victory in the opening game.
Kendra Zache came on in the seventh and struck out one.
Bethel College (12-1-1) scored five runs in the second inning to break open the close game.
Former Edwardsburg hurler Jeni Bollenbacher worked three-plus innings in the opening game, giving up one run on one hit with a pair of strikeouts.
Bollenbacher was also 1-for-2 at the plate.
Sarah Rassi was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Pilots.
Bethel took the second game of the doubleheader 9-0.
Bollenbacher took the loss in the second game as she gave up nine runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Bollenbacher was 1-for-2.
