Melody Seely, 53

Melody Ann (Spaulding) Seely, 53, passed into the arms of her Lord Jesus on March 9, 2010 in Seattle, Wash. after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Melody was born June 3, 1956, to Nolan and Virginia Spaulding of Niles, who survive.

Melody lived in the Niles area until she went to Bible college in Seattle, where she settled and worked at Boeing for many years.

Having taken piano lessons since age 3, Melody traveled in college with a gospel singing group as its pianist. She loved to help people receive Jesus Christ as their own personal savior. As a teenager, she traveled with her parents to Haiti, where the Haitians enjoyed touching her golden blond hair. Melody was highly dedicated to everything she believed and focused her energies accordingly. She will be remembered for this.

We praise God for lending to us the wonderful gift of her life!

Her husband of 20 years, Pat Seely, survives. He was a loving, devoted husband.  She had two grown stepchildren, Ian Seely and Tamara Seely, both of Seattle, who survive.
She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Duane Spaulding and Gary Spaulding, as well as her sisters, Trena Johnson and Valli Brandt, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life with a remembrance service will be held by her loving family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Feeding the Nations, P.O. Box 2438, South Bend, IN 46680 or online at www.feedingthenations.org.
