The Dowagiac Middle School wrestling team wrapped up its season on Saturday at the Edwardsburg Invitational.
The Chieftains finished sixth out of 13 teams.
“We feel that the kids gave all they had and it showed each meet,” Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said. “This was a great season. We got some good base work for the eighth graders moving on to the high school next year. The seventh graders got introduced and know what it takes to get better.
“Hopefully all the wrestlers had a great experience and will continue to stay in the program and bring it back up. Coach (Matt) Alward and myself would like to thank all the parents for allowing us to mold their young men, and for supplying a great food table at the invitationals. We would also like to thank coach (Michael) McNeil and Darby Smith for their help at meets. They kept us from getting spread to thin. Wish all the wrestlers continued success in school and whatever spring sport they are doing.”
