Bertha E. King, 91, of Niles died Saturday, March 13 at Westwoods of Niles Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Bertha was born Feb. 2, 1919 in Olmsted, Ill. She lived in Niles for more than 80 years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Niles and a member of the Eastern Star Miriam Chapter 56. She worked at Simplicity Pattern Co. for more than 30 years.

Surviving family includes a sister-in-law, Jennie King; two nieces, Mary Bryant of Niles and Toyka King of Kansas; many cousins, grandnieces; grandnephews; grandnieces; great-grandnephews. She especially formed a special bond with great-grand-niece, Autumn Simone Grayson of Niles.

Visitation will be at 11 a .m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with funeral services at noon with the Rev. Bryant L. Bacon Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.

In addition, Steve, Cherry and Autumn Grayson would like to thank the staff at Westwood of Niles for their great caretaking over the past five years.
