Former Ranger standouts lead Cass in men’s league

Week two of the Niles Mens’ League saw lots of high-scoring action.

In the early games, Green Structure Supply routed Team Shane Masten by a score of 77-40.

Former Brandywine and IUSB standout Tony McKee had 18 for the victors. Former Niles High School standouts Brian Shier and Adam Shepherdson had 14 and 13 points respectively.

Team Masten was led by Big Rod with 16 points.

The other early game saw Niles Duct and Insulation defeat Cass 79-58.

Doug Donnely had 22 points, while former Niles standouts Jemeal Briggs and Mark Haase added 14 and 13 for the winners.

Jake Beckman added nine.

Cass had former Ranger and Grand Valley State baseball player Dan Purlee with 16 points. Daniel Ward added 12.

The evening games began with Green Structure Supply over the Bucks 62-35.

Green Structure was led by McKeee’s 15 and Shier’s 13 points.

The Bucks had former Buchanan standout Criag Monsma with nine points while Eric Henckle had eight.

The Indiana-All Stars managed to defeat Team Cass despite the All-Stars only having four players.

Vernell Wilson led the winners with an amazing 41 points. Larry Scally chipped in 22.

Team Cass had Denton Gilliam with 15, Purlee with 13 and Joe Alford with 12.
