Dowagiac freshmen, JV swept by Plainwell

The Dowagiac freshmen and junior varsity boys’ basketball teams were swept by visiting Plainwell Tuesday night.

The Chieftain freshmen lost 58-57 in overtime, while the JV were defeated 57-54.

Joey Pasternak led the Dowagiac freshmen with 20 points, while Todd McIntyre added 16 and Brett Scanlon 10.

The JV squad was paced by Eric Charles’ 19 points.

Dowagiac also got 12 points from Tyler Clark and nine points from Brendon Murray.
The Chieftain junior varsity was also edged by Paw Paw last Friday night 47-43.

Craig Zebell netted 13 points for the Chieftains. Murray and Clark each added nine.

Dowagiac will wrap up its season on Thursday night when it hosts Comstock.

The freshmen tilt will begin at 4:15 p.m., with the JV game slated for 5:45.
