‘Vehicle of interest’ identified in Tarwacki murders

Suspect vehicle 1The Michigan State Police Niles Post is requesting help from the public in identifying a vehicle of interest in the Tarwacki double homicide that occurred Feb. 5 at 979 Carberry Rd., Niles.

Investigators have recently developed information from a reliable witness describing a vehicle in the vicinity of the homicide on the morning of Feb. 5. The vehicle is described as an early 1990s, mid-size, four-door sedan, sky or light blue in color. The make and model of the vehicle of interest is still unknown at this time.

Investigators would like to find the owner and driver of this vehicle that was seen near the intersection of Yankee and Carberry roads in the morning hours of Feb. 5.

“We are hoping the citizens and neighbors in the area will identify the vehicle or the owner will come forward so that we can proceed in the investigation,” Det. Sgt. Fabian Suarez said. The vehicle’s color is a sky or light blue with an older, four-door, boxy body style. The shown images reflect the style and color of the vehicle with a squared off rear trunk area.
