The Dowagiac freshmen girls’ basketball team wrapped up its season Thursday night with a 37-32 win over visiting Paw Paw.

The Chieftains finished the year winning its final two games.

Kristyn Turner hit a trio of 3-pointers and scored a season-high 18 points to lead Dowagiac to the win.

Corrine Kasper, who was 7-of-8 from the free throw line, finished with nine points.

The Chieftains had all six players score.

JV basketball
The Dowagiac junior varsity squad was not as fortunate.

The Chieftains dropped a hard fought 34-29 decision to the visiting Redskins.

Carly Polomcak had 15 points to lead Dowagiac, while Kelsie Primley added 10. Erica Greenwood finished with four points.

On Tuesday night the Chieftains were edged by South Haven 28-24.

Primley and Polomcak both scored 10 points, while Greenwood added four.
