Elizabeth Babler, owner of Blessings Photography in Niles, says her business is a way to make a little extra money for her family.
But that’s not her main mission.
“My mission is to use it to reach out to others in any way that I can,” she said.
And when she saw the destruction the earthquake caused in Haiti, she knew she had to use her talents to do something.
Blessings Photography will be offering $25 mini-photo sessions April 3 with all proceeds benefiting God’s Little Angels orphanage, located in the mountains of Petion-Ville in Haiti.
The business will also be offering marked down nature prints sold on its Web site with all proceeds going to the orphanage.
She called it a “double blessing” in being able to offer inexpensive Easter photo shoots for local families while also helping a worthwhile cause in Haiti.
Babler first heard about God’s Little Angels seven years ago when she and her husband were looking to adopt a child from Haiti. Unfortunately since they already had three biological children of their own, they were unable to adopt a child.
But that didn’t stop the couple from financially supporting the orphanage for the past seven years.
“It’s the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere,” Babler said. “They really need some stability and help there.”
The discounted photo sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 684-8534 to schedule an appointment. All who purchase a photo session will get free admission to Fernwood Botanical Garden for the photo shoot.
