Edwardsburg gets the best of Cass in Lakeland play

EDWARDSBURG – The host Eddies continued their tune up for the post season Tuesday night with a 52-43 Lakeland Conference victory over arch rival Cassopolis.

The contest was a makeup game from earlier in the month.

Edwardsburg and Cassopolis were knotted at 13 after one period of play, but the Eddies grabbed a 25-22 halftime advantage and then built on it throughout the second half.

Edwardsburg outscored Cassopolis 15-8 in the third quarter to open up a 40-31 advantage heading to the final quarter.

The Eddies (11-8, 8-3 Lakeland) also outscored the Rangers (7-12, 2-9 Lakeland) in the fourth quarter.

Rachel Vite scored a game-high 24 points to lead Edwardsburg offensively.

The Eddies also got 11 points from Sarah D’Amico and eight points from Ashley Streb.
The Rangers were led by Damonica Kelly’s 12 points. Lela Broussard added 10 points and Savannah Sullivan eight points.

The two teams wrap up their regular season on Thursday night.
