Brandywine improves to 5-11

EAU CLAIRE – A big first quarter helped lift visiting Brandywine to a 57-51 non-conference victory over Eau Claire in boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.

The Bobcats (5-11) poured in 19 first quarter points and held the Beavers (7-8) to just nine.

Brandywine’s lead was 36-14 at the intermission and 44-27 heading into the fourth quarter.

Eau Claire outscored the Bobcats 24-13 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late for the Beavers.

Lance Prescott had 17 points to lead Brandywine, which also got 12 points from Aaron Marquardt and nine points from Austin Searles.

Antonio Lewis scored 16 points for the Beavers.

The Bobcats are back in action on Friday night at Buchanan in a Lakeland Conference match up.
