The Niles freshmen basketball team improved to 8-4 on the season last Thursday with a 67-53 win over Benton Harbor.

John Franklin scored a career-high 18 rebounds and scored 13 points to lead the Vikings.

Niles also got 14 points from Alexander Brown and 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds from Anthony Bice. Rodney Applewhite finished with 13 points.

Niles, which had a season-high 40 rebounds, had five players in double figures.

The Vikings return home tonight to take on Battle Creek Harper Creek.
