L. George Ramsey, 66, of Vandalia, Mich. died at 12:10 p.m. Feb. 2, 2010 at his home.

He was born March 7, 1943 to Ira Leo and Ruth (George) Ramsey in East Rainelle, W.Va. and married Lillian D. Rinehart on May 24, 1963. She died Sept. 9, 1990.

Surviving are three sons: Edward G. Ramsey of Vicksburg, Mich., Christopher P. (Kim) Ramsey of Vandalia and Daniel L. (Jenny) Ramsey of Edwardsburg; a daughter, Lisa A. (Jeff) Bienz of Vandalia; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Midge (Del) Woolwine and Sue (Jack) Denney both of Elkhart; and one brother, Edward (Christy) Ramsey of Bristol, Ind.

He retired as maintenance supervisor for Liteco, formerly Ramco, in Elkhart. He previously was an iron worker. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 292, South Bend. He liked to fish and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He loved his children and grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Missionary Church, 14525 Chapel Hill St., Union, Mich. The Rev. Ken Bontrager will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, Bristol.
