Robert Alonzo Statler, 83, of Niles died at 11:12 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at Buchanan Meadows Living Facility, Buchanan of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 11, 1927 in Niles. He was a lifetime area resident.

On June 26, 1971 in Buchanan he married Betty Jane (Ingleright) Statler, who survives in Niles.

He was retired from Statler’s Swimming Pool Service. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Jane; son, Robert Clark (Carrie) Statler of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters, Rebecca Lynn Wilkins of Fremont, Calif., Peggy Rennee Adams of Niles, Julie Marie Jaroch of Niles, Lonnae Charlene Fillwock of Niles and Joan Alene Bicard of Buchanan; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Myrtle (Fox) Statler; two sisters, Bette Jo Sorenson and Shirley Jean Rayburn; and one grandson.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Christopher Kruchkow of Faith United Methodist Church in Buchanan officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
