Edwardsburg gets by Bronson Vikings

EDWARDSBURG – The Edwardsburg boys’ basketball team stepped out of Lakeland Conference competition Friday night and defeated visiting Bronson 78-54.

A big second quarter turned a close game into a lopsided affair.

The Eddies took a 16-14 lead into the second period, but outscored the Vikings 18-5 to open up a 34-19 advantage.

Edwardsburg continued its scoring explosion in the second half as it poured in 48 points, while holding Bronson to 35 points.

The Eddies (8-5) led 54-36 heading into the final quarter.

Jake Harroff scored a game-high 24 points to lead Edwardsburg, which also got 17 points from freshmen Josh Kozinski and 12 points from Nick Muir.

Mickey Allaman had 19 points for Bronson.

Mario Hernandez also reached double figures with 11 points.

The Eddies return to the court on Tuesday night when they host arch rival Cassopolis.
