BRIDGMAN – Visiting Brandywine limited Bridgman to just seven first half points as it rolled to a 45-17 Lakeland Conference victory in girls’ basketball action Thursday night.

The win raised the Bobcats’ regular season record to 14-0 and it improved their conference mark to 9-0, which gives them no less than a share of the league championship.

Brandywine got off to an 8-3 lead, which it extended to 16-7 by halftime.

“This was the best defensive performance we have had all season only giving up seven points in the first half,” Brandywine coach Josh Hood said. “This is the first time we have really put together 32 minutes of Lady ‘Cat basketball.”

The Bobcat express continued to roll in the second half, pouring in 29 points compared to just 10 for the Bees, who drop to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the league.

Carlie Newman scored a game-high 16 points to lead Brandywine, while Morgan Smallwood added seven and Lauren Leonard six.
