The Dowagiac freshmen and junior varsity boys’ basketball teams swept visiting Allegan Thursday night.

The freshmen team defeated the Tigers 59-31, while the junior varsity won 53-26.

Freshmen basketball
Brett Scanlon led the Chieftains with 13 points.

Jalen Brooks added 11 and Joey Pasternak 10. Jordan Juday finished with nine points.

JV basketball
Tyler Clark scored a game-high 11 points to pace the Chieftains.

Brendon Murray and Eric Charles each added 10. James Holder chipped in with six points.

Freshmen girls
The Chieftain freshmen girls’ basketball team picked up a 30-20 win over Allegan on Thursday night.

Kristyn Turner led the team with 12 points.

Dowagiac also got six points from Rachel Bailey, while Kayla Yakim Davaughna Huff added four.

JV girls
The Dowagiac freshmen girls’ basketball was defeated by host Allegan 40-20.

Carly Polomcak led the Chieftains with eight points. Lexy Rank added four points.
