ST. JOSEPH – The Dowagiac Middle School wrestling team traveled to St. Joe on Thursday to take on the Upton Bears.

The Chieftains came away from the night winning half (26) of its 52 matches.

“We keep on improving every time out,” Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said. “That is all we can ask of the kids.”

Winning two matches on the evening were Tristan Howard, Ken Creameans, Alex Hively, Darek Mills, Phillip Kocsis, Tyler Wessendorf, Bryce Younger and Rey Vega.

Winning a match were Andrew Lyle, Austin Broda, Trevor Leitz, Carl Grant, Dontae Murphy, Brody Froehlich, Chance Eberly, David Morgan Jr., Caleb Zimmerman and Aubrey Huston.
