Albert Burns, 68, of North Fifth St., Niles died at 12:02 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles following a brief illness.

He was born Oct. 8, 1941 in Tallulah, La. to Ora Lee Burns, and later adopted by Ed Burns and Rosie Nelson. He moved to Benton Harbor from Helena, Ark. in 1953 and later to Niles in 1964. He retired in 2008 from United Store Fixtures in Niles.

As a child, he attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Helena, Ark. He also worked at Clark Equipment Co. in the 1980s. He enjoyed collecting antiques.
He is survived by his cousins, Cassie N. Bell of White Hall, Ark., James R. (Josephine) Bell of White Hall, Bruce Bell of Arkadelphia, Ark., Kimbra Bell of Chicago and Kandice Bell of Hot Springs, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. James R. Bell of White Hall, Ark. officiating.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
