Russell Lee Pence, 79, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at his home.
Russell’s life began on Feb. 17, 1930, in Hammond, Ind., the son of Orla and Elma (Dell) Pence.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Korea.

Russell worked at Clark Equipment Co. in Benton Harbor, retiring when the plant closed.

He is survived by: one son, Larry Pence of Dowagiac; one daughter, Penny Weed of Brandenburg, Ky., several grandchildren; and sisters, Jeanette Baxley, Helen Lolmaugh, Barbara Bilinski and Donna Pence.

His family will gather with friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel.
Private burial will take place on Wednesday at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles.
