Josephine Rose Cobb, 81, of Hospital Street, Cassopolis, passed away at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.

Josephine was born Aug. 7, 1928, to the late Thomas and Rose (Braybayski) Kelman in Frackville, Pa. She was one of six children in the Kelman household.

In 1949, Josephine wed James Coy Cobb at a ceremony in Cedar Hill, Tenn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Kelman and Rose Ragaszinski; husband, James Coy Cobb; and siblings, Al Amalavage, Frank Amalavage, Edward Kelman and Frances Gall.

Josephine is survived by: her children, Mark (Patti Rangler) Cobb of Las Cruces, N.M.; Edward Clark (Kathy) Cobb of Dowagiac; and Vicky James of Dowagiac; seven grandchildren, Tim (Dawn) Stelmasiak, Curt Stelmasiak, Michael Soja, Aaron Cobb, Leah Cobb, Ashley Cobb and Brittany Cobb; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anne (Matt) Springsteen.

Josephine has been cremated. There will be a Mass at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
