Mark D. Hirth, 58, passed away in December 2009 while in Denver, Colo.

He was born Jan. 31, 1951 in South Bend, the son of Russell and Helen Hirth.

Mark served honorably in the Vietnam War. He lived in Edwardsburg for a period of time, where he and his then-wife, Delores, operated the Hirth Jewelry Store and a watch repair and watch-making service.

Those who have preceded him in death include his parents and his former wife, Delores Hirth.

He is survived by his stepmother, Barbara Hirth; a former wife, JoAn Rushenbery; four daughters, Jennifer Luttrell, Jacqueline Hirth, Janine Roberts and Melissa Hirth; three stepchildren, Jennifer Jones, Bob Bushman and Suzanne Kelley; seven grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; siblings, Schis Corbett and Drew Hirth; and an aunt, Jane Karcher.
The United States Army Honor Guard will present the flag and play “Taps” at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main, Edwardsburg, Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. A small service will be presented.

Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Service. Internment will follow at Edwardsburg Cemetery.
