Mobile meth lab on Main in Dowagiac broken up

Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announces that on Monday afternoon, Jan. 11, a methamphetamine lab was discovered in a vehicle in the 500 block of Main Street in the City of Dowagiac.

Acting on a tip regarding methamphetamine production, members of CCDET located a subject driving in that area and conducted a traffic stop.

The adult male driver had two outstanding warrants out of Van Buren County stemming from felony charges unrelated to this matter. Detectives located a “one-pot” style meth lab and related components in the vehicle.

Suspected methamphetamine was also recovered at the scene.

The driver was arrested at the scene for maintaining a methamphetamine lab, maintaining a methamphetamine lab within 500 feet of a business, production of hazardous waste, possession of methamphetamine and the unrelated warrants. The subject was lodged at the Cass County Jail, where he awaited arraignment in Fourth District Court before Judge Stacey Rentfrow.
