Betty’s life began on Oct. 7, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Becker) Kunz.

She was united in marriage to Stanley A. Dutkiewicz on July 6, 1946, in Chicago.
Betty, 83, of Eau Claire, was a member of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church.

One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren and over the last six years her great-grandchildren truly became the love of her life.

Betty loved her long phone conversations with her friends, since they where just a phone call away.

Her loving family includes: her sons, Robert (Terrie) Dutkiewicz Sr. of Eau Claire, Tom (Amber) Dutkiewicz of  Oregon and Joe Dutkiewicz of Niles; her grandchildren, Amber (Rob)Semrow of California, Amy (Mark) Liebich of Illinois and Rob (Dr. Kate) Dutkiewicz of South Bend, Ind.; great- grandchildren, Amaya, Aubry, Maren Simon and Milo; and her sisters, Violet Sivia of Niles and Mary Anna Kunz of New Orleans, La.
Betty passed away at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Stanley A., on June 4, 1996; her son, James; and her brother, Richard Kunz.

Her family will gather from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 7.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac led by Father Leo Taubitz.

She will be laid to rest at Mission Hill Memorial Gardens in Niles.
