Jimtown wins Edwardsburg wrestling invitational

EDWARDSBURG – Host Edwardsburg finished second in its own Edwardsburg Invitational on Saturday, losing in the final round to champion Jimtown 61-7.

Battle Creek Lakeview finished third, while Sturgis was fourth.

Dowagiac finished with a 2-3 record.

The Eddies defeated Dowagiac in the opening round 57-12, defeated Penn ‘B’ 29-25, were defeated by Battle Creek Lakeview 39-28 and defeated Sturgis 48-27 in the semifinals.

Jimtown won the championship by defeating Vicksburg 64-14, Maple Valley 67-12, Sturgis 45-26 and Lakeview 60-18 in the semifinals.

Dowagiac’s two victories came against Maple Valley 46-26 and Vicksburg 47-30.

The Chieftains were defeated by Lakeview 47-22 and Penn ‘B’ 44-28.

Ben Luth was the only undefeated wrestler for Dowagiac.
