Rangers finish third at Bangor tourney

BANGOR – The Cassopolis girls’ basketball team finished third at the Bangor Holiday Tournament after defeating winless Hartford on Wednesday 36-27.

The win improved the Rangers to 2-4 on the season, while Hartford fell to 0-6.

Savannah Sullivan poured in a game-high 12 points to lead Cassopolis, which also got 11 points from Damonica Kelly.

Kaitlyn Smith led the Indians with nine points.

Coldwater Holiday Tournament
COLDWATER – The Edwardsburg girls’ basketball team went 0-2 at the Coldwater Holiday Tournament after falling to the host Cardinals Wednesday night 52-36.

Coldwater grabbed an 18-10 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

The Cardinals led 29-21 at halftime, but held the Eddies to just two points in the third quarter to break the game wide open.

Coldwater took a 45-23 advantage into the final frame.

Emily Kozinski led Edwardsburg with 10 points, while Rachel Vite added nine and Mariah Murphy eight.

Ashley Streb finished with seven points.
