Teams heading back to action

Area sports teams are headed back to work this week despite still being out of school.
Several area teams will be taking part in holiday tournaments.

The Edwardsburg boys’ basketball team opened up play in the White Pigeon Holiday Tournament on Monday night.

The Eddies will wrap up play in the tournament this evening.

The Edwardsburg girls’ basketball team will kick off a two-day holiday tournament this afternoon in Coldwater.

The Eddies were scheduled to play at 1:30 p.m. against Fremont (Ind.).

The championship and consolation games are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

The Niles wrestling team will head East to compete in the Montrose Invitational today.
The Vikings were scheduled to begin wrestling at 9 a.m. this morning.

Cassooplis’ boys and girls teams will also be in action today.

The Rangers head to Centreville for a 6 p.m. tip-off against Mendon.

The second game will pit the host Bulldogs against Battle Creek St. Philip at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The consolation and championship games will be played on Wednesday at 6 and 7:30 p.m. respectively.

Over at Bangor, the Lady Rangers will meet White Pigeon in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
The second game will have the host Lady Vikings taking on Hartford.

The consolation game will be played on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., with the finals slated for 7:15.

The Dowagiac varsity wrestling team will take part in the Horseshoe Classic hosted by Comstock on Wednesday.

Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5 per person.
Concessions will be available throughout the day.
