Sheriff’s department investigates home invasions

Lt. Dave Chandler of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department reports that authorities are looking into three incidents of home invasion, all occurring in the early hours Monday morning.

According to a statement by the BCSD, the Niles Township Patrol Division responded to three reports of home invasion within the township in the area of Bond and Fort streets.

Police currently believe three suspects are involved in the incidents, in which unlocked residences were entered with various items stolen.

One vehicle was reportedly stolen from a Bond Street residence and later recovered by Niles City Police within the city limits.

Niles City and Michigan State Police assisted the sheriff’s department in their efforts. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau or Crime Stoppers.
