COMSTOCK – Torie Lowe and Kaisha Martin combined for 29 of Dowagiac’s 48 points as the Chieftains won their season opener over host Comstock Friday night.

Dowagiac (1-0, 1-0 Wolverine Conference) outscored the Lady Colts 33-10 through the first three quarter and then netted 15 points in the final eight minutes to earn a 48-23 victory.

The Chieftains led 6-3 after one period of play and 20-7 at halftime.

Dowagiac held a 13-3 advantage in scoring in the third quarter.
Lowe scored a game-high 19 points, while Martin added 10 points.
Correshia Rodgers and Marcie Ennesser finished with seven and four points respectively.

Mattison Murphy led Comstock with six points. Amy Mort, Caleigh Friedt and Melina Kokales all had four points.

Dowagiac will open up the home portion of its season on Friday, Dec. 11 against Allegan.
