Roger P. Young, 87, of 318 North 13th St., Niles, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at home of natural causes.

He was born July 21, 1922 in Buchanan. He was a lifetime area resident.
On May 22, 1965 he married Phyllis Young in Buchanan.

He was retired from Electrovoice in Buchanan. He was a member of Fairland Christian Church in Niles.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Niles; sons, Michael (Jennifer) Young, of Niles, Mark Young, of Niles, David (Amy) Young, of Baroda, Mich.; daughters, Karen (Mark) Boros, of South Bend, Connie Loasby, of South Bend; sisters, Martha Ferris, of Buchanan, Esther Crawford, of Buchanan; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur S. and Nina Betsy Young; and brothers, Lyle Young and Ted Young.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at Fairland Christian Church in Niles with Pastor Don Fleischman officiating.

Burial will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at Fairland Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or favorite food pantry of your choice.
