Thomas Williamson, 62, of Niles, passed away at his home on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 after a short illness, with his family by his side.
Tom was born on Dec. 11, 1946 to the late Elmer and Angela (Springer) Williamson. Tom was the eldest of four children in the Williamson household.
After graduating from Clay High School, Tom attended Indiana University South Bend. After one year at IUSB, Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served four years. Tom owned Tom’s Portage Marathon in South Bend for 14 years. After he closed the station he went to work as a mechanic and spent much of his free time fishing and being a photographer.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Tom is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Rosemary; siblings, Paulette (Jim) Snyder, of South Bend, Bryan Williamson of Buchanan, David (Sue) Williamson, of Osceola, Ind.; niece, Courtney Snyder, of South Bend; and nephew, Zachary Snyder, of South Bend.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes he has been cremated and a memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at Brown Funeral Home to honor Tom’s memory from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. Sixth St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
