Supporters of Brandywine High School want their seniors to be safe on graduation, Sunday, June 6.

The Project Graduation committee has organized a new fundraiser, the Brandywine Community Holiday Bazaar, to be held Saturday, Dec. 5 at the high school gym.

“It really took off,” fundraising chairwoman Jill Chamberlain said of the idea. “So far, we are up to over 30 vendors. We also opened it up to the History Club and sporting groups.”
Last year, Project Graduation raised approximately $17,000 to take the seniors on an “all-night adventure,” including gifts and a breakfast at the fire station the next morning, Chamberlain said. This year’s destination has not been determined.

“That way we know they’re not out drinking or something,” she explained.
The new Holiday Bazaar is expected to be a popular fundraiser for the group. Vendors – including ceramics, jewelry, scrapbooking, demonstrators and more – pay a rental fee, which benefits Project Graduation. The History Club will provide gift-wrapping to raise money for their trip to New York, and the committee will have a cookie walk. Food will be available.

“We’re hoping we’re going to start a new tradition,” Chamberlain said.
