Daniel Ra/Jon McLemore, 20, of North Fifth Street, Niles, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009.

He was born June 1, 1989 in Niles to Virgil Ricky McLemore and Patrice J. Swisher. He attended Niles schools and graduated from Niles Adult Education. He was a lifelong resident of Niles and self-employed handyman.

He earned a black belt in taekwondo at age 12. He enjoyed the fellowship of friends, especially on the basketball court, and recreational swimming. He was an artist, proficient in pencil illustrations. He loved kids, especially his nieces, who called him “Uncle Dango.”

He is survived by his parents, Virgil and Patrice McLemore, of Niles; sisters, Jessica A. McLemore, of Benton Harbor, and Angie Lintz, of Niles; and nieces, Zoey Swisher and Taliyah Lintz.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with Pastor Kathy Moore of Michiana Christian Embassy and Chaplain John Young of Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, Buchanan, officiating.

Friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
