Della Griffis, 60, of Niles passed away at Silverbrook Manor on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009.

Della was born on Aug. 17, 1949 to the late Elmer Paul and Norma Dell (Wood) Overmyer in Aurora, Ill.  After her mother passed away Della was adopted by Richard Earl and Dorothy Mae (Hawkins) Overmyer.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer, Norma and Richard, and siblings, Donna Overmyer, Allen Overmyer and Eddy Overmyer.

Della is survived by her mother, Dorothy Overmyer; daughter, Kimberly Griffis; two granddaughters; siblings, Donald (Kitty)Overmyer ,of Rocky Ford, Colo., Marlinda Phiscator, of Niles, Tina (Jeff) Holtzclaw, of Plymouth, Ind., Melissa Ann Overmyer, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Jena Overmyer of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister-in-law, Betsie Overmyer; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a memorial open house to remember Della’s life at the Silverbrook Manufactured Housing Community Club House, located at 2300 East Main Street in Niles on Friday, Nov. 13 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m.
