The Niles Ring Lardner seventh and eighth grade Gold teams were defeated by Bridgman Wednesday afternoon in their season openers.

The seventh grade dropped a 32-26 decision to the Bees, while the eighth grade fell 61-37.

Mike Martin and Alex Hardy both scored six points for the seventh grade with Davonte Woods and Raymond Terry adding five points each.

The Vikings return to the hardwood on Nov. 12 against Buchanan.

The eighth grade team was led by Kyle Solloway’s 16 points.

Jeremy Wortham added eight points, while Nick Knoll and Joe Boyer played well defensively and were credited with two steals.

Niles will take on Buchanan on Nov. 12.
