In the animated adventure “Up,” balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen dreams of traveling to South America. Faced with the loss of his house, he chooses to fly away in it instead! He realizes too late that an 8-year-old named Russell is on board his flying house. Together, the two of them embark on an adventure, where they encounter strange and exotic characters.

Silent Auction at the Howard Branch Library
Stop in to the Howard Branch library and bid on a beautiful hand-knitted afghan by Lillian Couch. The afghan is sure to keep someone warm and cozy on a cold winter night. It would make a wonderful gift to give a loved one or to keep. The size of the afghan is roughly four feet by five feet.

The silent auction will begin Nov. 16 and end on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Annual Holiday Bake Sale. All proceeds will benefit the Howard Branch Library. This project is sponsored by the Friends of the Cass District Library Howard Branch. The library is located at 2341 Yankee St. in Niles.
