The H1N1 flu has hit the Edwardsburg Middle School and some of its teaching staff. The school nurse is keeping on top things and is waiting for the H1N1 vaccine to arrive.

During an Edwardsburg School Board meeting Monday night, Superintendent Sherman Ostrander reported that the school is in constant communication with the health department. Ostrander He said 75 percent of attendance is required for funding, and if the high school went down, he would recommend that the entire district be shut down.

Ostrander said the medical community is treating the flu all the same. He said the Edwardsburg school nurse does a wonderful job staying on top of matters and will keep the district apprised of the situation.
