Tate a Biletnikoff semifinalist

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – University of Notre Dame junior Golden Tate was one of 10 wide receivers named to the semifinalist list for the Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced Monday.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the nation’s top college receiver.

Tate leads all Football Bowl Subdivision receivers in 100-yard receiving games and statistically is one of the top receivers in the nation. He is tied for second with eight touchdown receptions, ranks third with 847 receiving yards, is fourth in the nation averaging 121.0 receiving yards per game, ranks 10th in receptions per game at 7.43 catches and his 16.29 yards per catch average is 11th in the nation.

Tate was named a mid-season first-team All-American by CBSSports.com and was a second-team selection by Sporting News.

The Biletnikoff winner will be announced live on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show airing Dec. 10 on ESPN. He will then be recognized at The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation’s annual awards dinner held at the University Center Club in Tallahassee on Feb. 13, 2010.
