Ring Lardner spikers win three of four matches

The Ring Lardner seventh and eighth grade Blue and Gold teams played Lakeshore this past Monday.

The eighth grade Blue and Gold hosted the Lancers, while the seventh grade Blue and Gold traveled to Lakeshore.

The eighth grade Gold defeated Lakeshore 25-23, 21-25 and 15-4.

The Blue squad played a closely contested three sets and were victorious 31-29, 21-25 and 15-9.

The Blue and Gold travel to Dowagiac today.

Both teams end the season on Saturday, Oct. 24, with Gold traveling to the Bangor Tournament and Blue traveling to the Coloma Tournament.

The seventh grade Gold lost in a close match to Lakeshore in three sets 16-25, 25-15 and 12-15.

The seventh grade Blue team defeated Lakeshore in all three sets 25-15, 25-9 and 15-3.
The Blue team improved its record to 14-0 (34-3) overall.

“Serving and passionate play highlighted the team victory,” Niles coach Nic Hawley said.
The Blue and Gold teams host Dowagiac this Thursday.

That is Gold team’s last match, while the Blue squad concludes its season on Saturday at the Bangor Tournament.
